In your ultimate dream house, what does your favorite room look like?
Its my bedroom, and the walls are a dark red colour with red velvet curtains. There is a HUGE King Size bed, with one of those things over the top, like a King might have had in victorian times. There is an open fireplace, and a big old comfortable sofa that I can curl up on and read, angled near the fire.
On the walls are hanging artworks of a gothic or comic art kind of nature. Vampirella maybe, batgirl. Mark Ryden art maybe.
There are cushions everywhere. A plasma screen that pops up at the foot of the bed. Dark red carpet that is soft and plush, with a big red/gold rug on the floor.
Have you ever met any celebrities? Any interesting stories?
I've met a few local ones, and only one International one and I wouldnt exactly say "meet" for him, I would say "saw him crossing the road from a distance". But still.. breathing the same air. Kinda. It was Stephen Nichols who plays "Patch" in DOOL. I was only about sixteen and saw him walking towards me, but he crossed the street (at a crossing) before I got there. Missed him by that much!
I also missed meeting Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek Voyager) when she came up to the mountains to see some touristy sites. Less than a km from my front door. I was so crushed I missed it.
Local celebs... I've met Sarah Kemp who played Charlie in "Sons and Daughters". I met several of the Willisees (journalists)... they used to come in and rent holiday cottages (or they owned them and rented them out, I cant remember) at an estate agency I worked at once. Asshats all of them. I've met Penny Cook, Caroline Johansson, Gordon Piper, Syd Heylen, Joyce Jacobs, Wendy Strehlow, Diane Smith, and Shane Porteous who are all from the 80s soap "A Country Practice". Our local hospital used to a yearly fete, and every year they would have three cast members from the show there doing the chocolate wheel, and signing autographs. Was lots of fun. I also went to school with Shane Porteous' kids. They were a couple years ahead of me, but same school.
I've also met Noni Hazlehurst (play school) and John Jarod (wolf creek) who used to live in the same town as me. Reg Livermore, Jenny Kee.. Jenny Kee walked past me a month or two ago at a local train station. Ryan Moloney (Jarod in Neighbours) walked past me at Hobart airport once.
hmm. I'm sure there are a few more, but I can't think of them.
So its that time again. Time to take over the world!! write the shopping list for Friday. I'm trying to think of some really yummy things we can have for dinners and lunches next week that are different but that don't cost too much. I'm thinking we might try one of the home made pizza recipes that Discordia_Eris has posted to her vox. But aside from that I am coming up empty in terms of fun food that is still healthy. It's still school holidays so I don't feel like we have to be super uber healthy but somewhat healthy would be good. I'm thinking of making some snacks too. Maybe some muffins or fruity slices. I don't want us to load up on chips and lollies just because its the holidays.
It's a bit hard though because kiddo is -extremely- picky about what he will and wont eat and I don't want to waste a lot of money on something he might eat when he might not. *sighs*
If anyone knows any good sites for recipes, or knows some recipes give me a shout! : )
hmmm.. just testing the crosspost from vox to LiveJournal thing.
I wonder it it works with f-locked LJs..
or if editing the post on vox changes it on LJ?
What would the title of your autobiography be?
Submitted by princesskasren.
I don't think my life is interesting enough for a biography. But.. maybe something cheesy like "and so are the days of my life." Or something book of the weekish like "the caged bird, a memoir." I can see Oprah picking it for her book of the week club.
Or maybe I could go manga, and call it "Bratjitsu: Internal Rage II"
If it was in comic form, it would have to be "The Adventures of Bratgirl." They could make a video game out of it, where you play me, and you have to battle against the forces of good. Because evil r0x0r!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Why?
I'm actually semi-happy where I am. But.. hmm. China. For the culture and tradition and history. Or Japan. For the kawaii and the technology. It would be a neat way to have to learn the language too, being immersed in it.
Sorry, there was a power implosion at our datacenter.
We're working as fast as we can to get it back pronto!
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!! no LJ!!
*feels lost*
What gameshow or reality show would you kick butt on?
none, becaue I wouldnt lower myself to appear on one. ;p
How many places have you lived in your life?
Far too many. Lets see... 1, 2, 3.. mmm... 12. I think.
1. The house I grew up in.
2. The first place I moved into.
3. Down the road from there with a friend.
4. Down the mountains
5. With a friends mother
6. back on my own
7. at my mothers house
7. in with my boyfriend
8. at my mothers house with boyfriend
9. another place with fiance
10. moved with husband
11. moved again with hubby
12. left hubby to move here.
I think I might be missing one or two in there actually, there was a time when I was moving every 6 mnths and its all jumbled together....
What magazines do you subscribe to, and why?
None. Because they are all overpriced and full of crap.
